NEW POLICIES QUASHED BY ARMED FORCES TRIBUNAL

There was a great hue and cry over the new policies regarding Extension of Short Service Commission. Many officers were asked to leave service as their initial period of engagement was over. This order, however, was challenged at the Principal bench of Armed Forces Tribunal, Delhi.

The ruling dated 29/11/2013 on OA 38/2013 was given by the Hon AFT.

The judgement can be read here : http://www.aftdelhi.nic.in/assets/pending_cases/2013/OA/OA%2038%202013-29-11-2013.pdf

All aspirants are requested to red this before you apply for SSC.

Eventhough the orders are quashed, there is a good chance that AFMS comes up with a new order with new clauses.

    1. Hi,

Finish your MBBS in preferably ONE attempt. Get some good marks. Do your internship well.

Apply for SSC and appear for interview. Perform well and bingo!!

      This is the ONLY option.

      Regards

  4. Hi,

2 years counts from the DAY OF COMMISSIONING. You should not be 30 on 31 December of the year that you apply for PC. Calculate accordingly.

Parents will not be allowed in field areas which are non family stations. On your initial posting, you can apply for a house (special sanction, as only married officers are allowed quarters) , which you can retain when you are posted to a non family station.

    Regards

    1. Hi,

You will first be posted to a hospital where you may get to do surgeries. But then you get a field posting where your skills in surgery are rarely tested, but your admin skills are put to the breaking point every other day. After that, you will be posted to a hospital with all facilities where you can do all your surgeries and may be run a dept.

This is as per normal course scenario. Remember, a war changes everything..

  6. Sir, in one of the above comments, you wrote that one should be less than 30yrs of age before applying for PC. IT seems age is a big limit here.
So am I right in thinking that joining SCC after MBBS is better than joining after doing PG as it gives you more time and chances to have a shot at PC ?

    1. Hi,

Not necessarily. PC for post graduates depends on vacancy in the specific department. SOme departments like PSM, Microbiology, Dermatology are already saturated and chances of PC is almost NIL. So, your chances to get PC is high if you are Ortho, Surgery, Anaesthesia etc..

  7. Hi ,
This is dr abhinav . I have done my DNB anesthesia in 2014 and after that I have done critical care speciality .
I have a query . If I join Navy / airforce ..( as I will never opt for army) will I get posting in anesthesia in navy or I will be made work as a medicine ??
My second question is I have done my MBBS in 2009 . So how many years experience they will consider me ?
And can you please tell will it be the right decision for me to leave critical care and go to navy and join as a navy doctor. Like i luv navy and airforce as adventure but I am really confused what life I am going to get there as an anesthetist ???

I will be waiting for your reply

    Yours sincerely
    Dr abhinav banerjee

    1. 1) Spell out you degree please. Is it MD Emergency Medicine? Anything other than MD Medicine goes to Anaesthesia.

      2) MD/MS equivalent will get 2 and half year seniority. For working in Govt sector in a multi speciality hospital will get you 06 months more of seniority.

      3) Life is good, but not as a doctor. As a Medical Officer. Some can handle the transition smoothly. Some cannot.
